So a few weeks back it was my birthday. I had a bad birthday. Nothing was going right...in fact everything was going wrong. I told my husband, that night, I wanted a birthday re-do.
The next day I received an email from Jamie. She's the blogger behind So Much Better With Age which had been hosting a Mohawk Home Rug giveaway. In her email, she informed me I was randomly selected as the winner of a Mohawk Rug. Who me? I won something? Say it ain't so! Happy, Happy Birthday to me, in deed! I got my re-do and I also finally got a rug for my dining room.
The funny thing is I was actually planning a DIY painted rug project for my dining room. No need anymore...ladies and gentleman I have beautiful new Mohawk Rug.
As the winner of the rug giveaway I was able to pick any 5x8' Mohawk Rug valued at $150 or less. First of all, if you know anything about rugs, $150 doesn't usually get you very much rug. That's not the case with Mohawk. I found there to be a huge selection of Mohawk Home Rugs to pick from and most of them were significantly less than $150. I was seriously torn between which rug to pick from - there are so many beautiful choices. Here are a couple of others I was seriously considering...
In the end, I went with the Mohawk Home Border Lattice Line Area Rug. My dining room has red walls, big, heavy, dark furniture and hardwood floors. I really needed something to lighten up the space and I thought this rug would do just that.
I couldn't have been more right! I wasn't home when my rug was delivered - just 5 days after my order was placed - so when I pulled up and it was on my front porch I was thrilled (as was my son who seriously kissed it).
I immediately unrolled the rug and let me tell you, it's even more beautiful in person than it is online. The cream and grey work perfectly together and I love the lattice pattern.
Granted, I've only had the rug a few days, but I can already tell it's a low maintenance rug. Believe, me I know what a high maintenance rug is...thank you living room-wool-rug-that-still-sheds-three-years-and-countless-vacuums later.
If you want to know how they make Mohawk rugs (while keeping the price right) check out this video. As always, they're 'Still Made in America.'
But enough about the gorgeous new addition to my dining room. I'm sure you want to know how you can get a Mohawk Rug in your home, too, right? Okay so here's the deal. When the fine folks at Mohawk contacted me about my winning rug they also offered to let me giveaway another Mohawk rug to one of my fine readers. Isn't that amazing?! I am so excited for you.
