It's always a good day at Two It Yourself when I have an awesome and easy knockoff project for you AND a giveaway!  Let's get straight to business...basically because I just can't wait any longer to show you how easy the DIY version is to make thanks to the BLACK+DECKER AutoSense drill.

Can you ever have too many coasters? They make great, inexpensive gifts and even if you keep them for yourself they're a great way to add a little color and personality to a room - while being totally functional.  During a recent trick to Dollar General I picked up the April issue of All You Magazine (totally scored using this $1 off coupon - get it while supplies last).

So a few weeks back it was my birthday.  I had a bad birthday.  Nothing was going right...in fact everything was going wrong.  I told my husband, that night, I wanted a birthday re-do.

The next day I received an email from Jamie.  She's the blogger behind So Much Better With Age which had been hosting a Mohawk Home Rug giveaway.  In her email, she informed me I was randomly selected as the winner of a Mohawk Rug.   Who me?  I won something? Say it ain't so! Happy, Happy Birthday to me, in deed! I got my re-do and I also finally got a rug for my dining room.

Websters Chalk Paint Powder REVIEW {And Giveaway}

Last week I shared a furniture makeover project in which I converted an old dresser drawer into a raised storage box.   The dresser was originally a solid wood stained piece with a poly finish.  It may have been someone else's cup of tea, but it wasn't mine and so I painted it.

If you've been following Two It Yourself for any length of time you know I prefer chalk paint when painting furniture.  I typically mix up a batch of DIY Chalk Paint, but for this project I was given the opportunity to test out Websters Chalk Paint Power.  This was my first experience with Websters and I have to say I am definitely impressed.

Link It or Lump It Link Party #22 {Plus Features}

DIY Large Christmas Sign {Pottery Barn 'Peace' sign Knockoff}

If you've been following Two It Yourself regularly you know I love a good knockoff - especially when it's a Pottery Barn one and especially when it saves me oh...$129!  I kid you not, this 54" Pottery Barn Peace Sign - as gorgeously hand painted as it is - is triple digits.  Well, guess what my friends....I just made a DIY large Christmas sign for FREE! (Even if you don't have any supplies you can make this for just a few bucks...for the paint and stain.)  I may be bias, but I think my DIY version is equally as charming.

As much as I love me some PB, I decided to use the sign as inspiration, but not completely knock it off.  Instead of PEACE I went with BE MERRY and I have a different finish.  That's what's great about this large wood Christmas sign - it's completely customizable.

2IY: The Best DIY of August (and a sneak peek of what's working in September)

August was a busy month for us here at 2IY.   Aside from the ongoing $100 bathroom makeover which included the pallet wood hanging bathroom shelf and a Pottery Barn inspired rope-wrapped dollar store trash can we also managed to fit in a few other fun DIY projects.   Here's a quick recap of some of our favorite from the past month.

Melissa's personalized wood pallet sign makes a huge statement in her dining room and for very little cost.   The best part of that project was making the homemade chalk paint which proved a huge success for this project and the painted nightstand-turned-hall table makeover.
